Walk for Women - Sat 4 March- Manchester

Updated: Feb 27, 2023

To mark International Women’s Day, our Women of Irish Heritage Network will be taking part in Manchester City Council’s Walk for Women on Saturday 4 March.

This is an ideal opportunity for our Women of Irish Heritage network to come together to celebrate our Irish heritage as part of Manchester’s International Women’s Day celebrations - as well as an ideal opportunity for us to join with women from all over the world to mark this special day.

If you're joining us, we would really appreciate it if you could please wear something green on the day to highlight our heritage.

The walk will start at 12noon, outside Manchester Cathedral, and will last for about 45 minutes. The walk will end at Manchester Central Library, where WIH will provide refreshments.

Inside the Central Library, a number of community groups and organisations will have display stalls, and you are invited to have a look around and find out more about the work going on in Manchester’s communities.

Please email dorothy.lynch@frea.org.uk to book a place for Walk with Women with the Women of Irish Heritage.

This event has been supported with a grant from Manchester City Council.
