Aileen received her MBE in October 2010 for services to a range of Charities. She became involved in Irish Community Care about 5 years ago in a trustee role as a way of "giving back". Her dad was "sent" to England when he was 17 just with the clothes on his back. Aileen often thinks of the uneducated, unsupported 17-year-old and wonder how he managed to find work, send money home and keep himself safe. Aileen’s aim is to ensure that both current and future generations feel supported.
Aileen confirms 'Women of Irish Heritage Network is the next step in my journey and I'm delighted to both meet such an amazing group of women and support all of our future endeavours.'
